The Certificate IV in School Based Education Support is designed to equip you with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to be an Education Assistant in a school. You will learn how to support students with diverse abilities, with a special focus on assisting young people with disabilities. This qualification prepares you to effectively support teaching staff in a variety of educational settings, including primary, secondary, and education support schools, centres, or units.

As part of your qualification, you’ll engage in a supervised work placement to apply your newly acquired skills in a real classroom environment. Before starting your placement, you’ll need to obtain a Working with Children Check and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (Education Department WA).
