Health Services Assistance (assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care) (AIN) is a physically demanding career which provides assistance to professional healthcare staff for the care of clients.
You will have direct contact with clients and assist them with personal care, communication, mobility and rehabilitation. You will be required to implement programs and procedures to maximise client well being. Acting as an assistant to a nurse, your working environment can be varied. You may need to work shift hours and will need to use equipment designed for manual handling. This course has a focus on mental health and includes units for the Assistant in Nursing Specialisation for acute care settings.
